    Working principle: The coal and gangue in the heavy medium hydrocyclone are acted upon by gravity and centrifugal force. When the particle density is greater than the suspension density, the direction of the force is the same as the direction of centrifugal acceleration. The particles move centrifugally in the hydrocyclone medium and concentrate in the outer layer.

The two-product heavy medium hydrocyclone is a common type of coal preparation equipment, characterized by its simple structure and high separation efficiency. The following is a detailed description:


Structure and Operating Principle:

It typically consists of a cylindrical and conical structure. After mixing with a qualified suspension in a mixing drum, the material is pumped into the Hydrocyclone. Under the action of centrifugal force, the raw coal is separated into light and heavy products based on density. The light product is discharged through the clean coal pipe by the inner hydrocyclone, while the heavy product is discharged through the outer hydrocyclone into the gangue outlet.


Product Features: 

Simple structure, easy operation, high throughput, and large dry coal processing capacity. For example, the Haiwang FZJ series ultra-large diameter heavy medium hydrocyclone has achieved a dry coal processing capacity increase of over 20% compared to its theoretical value in actual use. It also offers high separation efficiency, reaching approximately 98%. It utilizes a high-Alumina ceramic lining with an alumina content of over 95%, providing excellent wear resistance.


Classification: 

Based on the raw coal feeding method, it can be divided into pressurized (tangential) and non-pressurized (center) feeding. Pressurized coal-feed systems typically use conical dense medium hydrocyclone, while non-pressurized coal-feed systems typically use cylindrical dense medium hydrocyclone


Applications: 

Primarily used for coal sorting, commonly used in steam coal gangue removal, coking coal cleaning, jigging primary separation followed by jigging secondary coal with dense medium hydrocyclone reselection, and separation of fine coal during grading and washing.

Maintenance Cycle:

Minor repairs are typically performed approximately once a month, primarily repairing the gangue discharge box, replacing the clean coal discharge box, the medium coal discharge port, and the underflow port.

Major repairs are typically performed approximately every 1.5 years. This involves completely disassembling, inspecting, repairing, and reassembling the hydrocyclone. All seals, fasteners, and other accessories are replaced, and the entire unit is rust-removed and painted for corrosion protection. Furthermore, components such as the underflow port and small cone have a service life of approximately six months and require regular inspection and replacement.


Transportation Requirements: During transportation, avoid collisions or drops. Lift and lower the hydrocyclone gently to prevent the wear-resistant lining from falling off or deformation of the hydrocyclone, which could affect the cyclone's operation and reduce its service life.
